The Man Whose Mother was a Pirate

Staid and steady Sam finds adventure when his mother hears the call of the sea again.

This year’s Play-in-the-Park for families is a madcap adaptation of the rollicking Margaret Mahy story by children’s theatre specialist Tim Bray, with songs by Christine White.

No bookings, no tickets, just a koha of your choice (eftpos available) when you arrive.

Bring a picnic rug (seating is on the ground) and sunscreen. If it’s wet or too windy, that day’s performances will be in Cochran Hall, 106 Cashmere Ave – see our Facebook page on the day if you are unsure. Change-of-venue notification will be posted at 11 am.

Parking close by is limited and the walk past the pool takes a few minutes, so arrive in plenty of time.

1.30 pm and 3.30 pm, Saturday and Sunday 15, 16, 22 and 23 February.

Performance length: under an hour.
