Welcome to KAT Theatre
We are a community theatre society based in north Wellington, with a wonderful community of members and supporters from across the Greater Wellington Region.
At KAT Theatre, we’re an “all hands on deck” kind of organisation, and we pride ourselves on our breadth of work.
Every year, our members are given the opportunity to engage in all aspects of theatre-making: from scriptwriting, directing, designing, performing, or publicising, to creating sets, costumes and lighting effects. Everyone is welcome to get involved, whether you’re on stage, or behind it.
Our annual programme consists of four main-bill productions (one of which is for child audiences), several members’ gatherings and occasional workshops. While most of our productions require mainly teen or adult performers, every now and then we stage one that involves young actors as well.
